Mr. Puerta - Jan 2004:
Straight from the Hip toss
Well, its been awhile since I wrote a column and since that time a lot has happened to the one big happy family known as PCW. So, where do I start, first of all I have to start out by saying that views expressed in my column are not that of PCW or any of the PCW owners. Now with that being said, lets get going.
Many changes have taken place to PCW in the last month or so and the biggest part of those changes consists of a new owner of PCW and the departure of talent. Its a known fact that Rick Knight has taken over full control of PCW. The first thing that Rick stated to all of us is that nobody is fired and are all welcomed to stay with PCW. A group of wrestlers decided to leave PCW and that was their decision and not of PCW or Rick Knight their owner, gone from PCW (from what I heard and understand) are Egotistico Fantastico, Boy Toy Bryan, Mark Madison, Tony Scarpone, John Burke, Brandon Thomaselli Stu Early, Weston Benton, Machine, Chris Styles, and a few others that I may have forgotten about at this time. Now as for the talent that have left they will be missed as they were a big part of PCW, but that being said, there is still a ton of talent that are sticking around and in no way is PCW going anywhere anytime soon. Sticking around
PCW is Mike Horning, Val Fuego Rocha, Tony Rican, Sensational Sacha, Super J, Rick Knight, Wally Wilde, Rick Rocket, The Butcher, Lolipop, Botch, Whiplash Jarrod Priest, Michelle Morgan, PL Meyers, Damian, Diablo, Sacrifice, Southern Comfort, Vincent Stone, Ring Announcer Brian, Lou Tufano, Superfan Frankie, Stubz, The Schnog, Samantha Hart, PJ Benton, Mr. Puerta, and when available Warm Carlos and others that I may have forgotten about and for that I do apologize.
Ever since the all the changes have started to take place, there have been numerous rumors that have started to appear on other message boards talking about the fall of PCW.
As it is well known, PCW is the whipping boy of the Chicago scene, after all there are people out there that base their opinions after seeing one show, and in my opinion, you cant base an opinion of a show seeing it one time because this isnt the WWE, this is independent wrestling and nobody is perfect. It is possible that a federation may have an off night. I have said this many times before PCW has had some off nights and then we have shows like the last show we had in Summit where we saw Rican and Roach go at it in their anything goes match, to Ego/Stu having one hell of a match and not to forget the wild Halloween Battle Royal where Machine came out as New Jack, Botch as Michael Hayes, (with blond wig and Bad Street USA T Shirt) Brandon Thomaselli as Party Boy Or there was the Tournament for the tag titles when we saw The Chicago Connection (Jarod Priest, Superstar Chris Styles) and Team Damn it (Willie the Bomb Richardson, Germel Quinn) tear down the house.
I dont want it to sound like Im crying cause PCW is always getting ripped or were not getting any respect . Cause Im not, I know deep down that PCW will be fine and just like Sonny Rogers said on some of the message boards that he will put up a $200 airline voucher against anyone $50 gift certificate to Outback Steak House that PCW will be around on Dec 31st 2004. Anyone betting against PCW is a fool. There are too many people left in PCW that will not let PCW die and I am one of them.
So, until the next time, take it easy and be sure to come to our next show and that is on January 17th in Carol Stream when PCW presents Reboot
