Duce Trey
CDK: You know, I haven't been in the Chicago scene for very long, but I have met a lot of people. A lot of people I would consider acquaintances, but very few would I consider true friends. He is one of those people. Granted, I didn't get a chance to see him wrestle for AWA, or any other place, as the first time I actually got to see him wrestle was at the 2006 Children's Memorial Hospital Benefit Show. He helped me SO much with that show, along with Joey Eastman, from taking an idea of mine and helping make it a HUGE success. I've learned a lot from him over these past few months, and he's helped me keep my head straight and kept my eyes on the prize and not let me lose sight of that.
In January, I got to see 23 make his debut in Coal City for MSPW. He was working now current MSPW Heritage Champion, A.D.D. Before the show, I was watching him and A.D.D. go over their match, and I noticed something that I hadn't seen before really, and that is Duce actually working with him, making sure he understood everything, going over any spots, any questions he had. I know guys go over matches before shows, that's nothing new. I think it was more a matter of respect, no matter how green a guy is. That is why I think he really is a professional when it comes to this business. When it came to match time, seeing the heat he got was amazing. A month later, he returned and not surprising, he was OVER. He even had one whole side of the crowd kneeling in support of the African Warrior.
Fact of the matter is, tomorrow...April 14th, 2007 in Coal City will be DuceTrey's final match. He has handpicked his opponent, and has made sure that it was someone special. Like I said earlier, he always seemed like the type of person that no matter if you were a 10-year vet, or a rookie, that you would learn something from them, whether it be A.D.D., Ricky "The Gun" Thomas, or his opponent for tomorrow, making his MSPW debut, Fuzion. All I know is that tomorrow night, it's going to be one hell of a ride. Good luck, asa lama lakem, and thank you for everything.
Hope to see some of you there!

Wow, thank you for that CDK. I was just starting to get strong again until I read that. Yes, April 14th is my last match and I wish that I could do a Sonny but this is for personal reasons. I'm moving back home to California in two weeks. My wife has other objectives in life and I wish that I were part of her future but she has decided otherwise. I'm not going to disrespect her here, but truth is I'm in a lot of pain right now. I keep thinking this is a bad dream and I'm trying to wake-up. It hurts to leave my two boys that I pick up from school and do their homework, make their lunches, iron clothes and coach their athletics. I've been stressed and can't sleep. I've lost 14lbs. since I found this out last Friday. I cry everyday when my kids smile and call me "Daddy". I wont ever get to this time again in my life. This is a very cruel world and can't believe that they could be taken out of life. People who know the situation know why I have to leave. I've been humiliated, embarrassed, etc... Go figure that I would be the last to find sh*t out.
I called my good friend Steve Stone and told him of my situation and he was very understanding and found away to put me on the show and my kids can see me wrestle one more time before their daddy has to leave. (They ain't missing much ) Thank you Steve, you've always been in my corner. Thank you to all of MSPW for allowing to be part of this event on such short notice. It's going to be very emotional. I never thought this day would come.
I hope that I was able to leave a positive impression on a wide variety of people around the wrestling scene. Not so much in the ring but how to conduct yourself out of the ring. What it really means to be a pro wrestler. The extra stuff that some have seem to forgot. I've never charged any promoter $1 to work. I've always done it for love. The same love a kid in little league may have have for playing in the majors one day. I never kissed ass and/or had to run with a click and I respect that about myself. I've passed up many opportunities to go farther in the business but my family has always came first.
I have a huge list of people I would like to thank and let them know how much I appreciate them and keep it short- Chris(admin)- Thank you for calling me tonite to check on me and always guiding me to do the right thing personally and professionally. Alto/Great Malaki- I feel like you are "my" guys and hope that I was able to be a good example for the both of you. CJ Meano- You are sweet and I love you with all my heart. Joey Eastman-You are my friend and when we work together we show them how it is done right. CDK-You are the hardest working guy in business. If their was an MVP award it would be yours. JustJimmy-I've got to know you on a personal level and thank you for your support. Hopefully we can get our kids to the batting cages one more time. Ed Chuman- Thanks for letting me be "behind the scenes" and help out with your shows. I've learned a lot about the business from you. Fuzion- You have a goo d head on your shoulders and are a very humble individual. Thanks for letting me have an impact in you career/life.
There are so many more people to thank and I hope to speak with you before I leave. I always thought of myself as a strong person but this has really broke me down. I'm scared of what the future holds and am trying to fight through this. Thank you to everyone for your support.
Duce
