DEFINITIVE WINS / LOSSES
These are wins that can be considered valuable, or actual wins. They can be achieved in matches labelled " S " for singles matches, or " TAG " for tag team matches. The usage of capital letters in the designation of these matches is to assist in easily sifting through the many " filler " or nonsensical matches that have proliferated over the years.
In an effort to prolong storylines or to prevent a clean win or loss from taking place, usually to appease a performer, these " filler " type of matches have always been utilized in the booking of professional wrestling throughout its history. Its actual intention is to prolong a storyline by not indicating a clear cut winner and loser and thus, cannot be considered an actual win or loss.
When the storyline, or worked, perception is taken into consideration, the reality of a real life encounter, or contest, must be a fair and even contest in order to be taken seriously and sanctioned in any sport, hence the two person against two person tag team match, or the one on one encounter in a singles match.
There are exceptions to this rule, generally limited to gimmicked matches, such as a Battle Royal or a gimmicked Ladder Match like Money In The Bank, where, even though there are multiple opponents in the match, it is a fairly even encounter where each participant has the same form of obstacles to contend with. Due to there being some nefarious circumstance involved, it would not be prudent in such cases to declare a loser.
