Ring Announcer Dan Pays Tribute to Ric Flair - April 1, 2008
Ric Flair had been wrestling longer than this fan of 25 years and it wasn't until just now that I realized how much I'll miss him. I started watching wrestling religiously as I got my Jr. High School career going as the White Sox won the AL West. The first time I recall watching Ric on TV was on World Class Championship Wrestling that was on WPWR-TV Channel 60 (not 50.) He wrestled Kerry Von Erich for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship in a cage with Michael Hayes as the special referee. This was the match where Terry Gordy slammed Kerry's head with the cage door in which that had never been done before in that kind of match. That was where I got hooked and wrestling (of some sort) has been a friend since.
Think about this if you will; Ric Flair is one of the more fortunate men in the history of Pro Wrestling. Why would I say that? From November 1983 (at Starrcade) to July 1990 (Great American Bash) Ric Flair held the NWA World Championship almost uninterrupted with the exception of three periods of time spanning approximately 6 months combined. Kerry Von Erich (3 weeks,) Dusty Rhodes (2 weeks,) Ronnie Garvin (1 1/2months,) and Ricky Steamboat (just shy of three months) were the transitional champions in that period whenever Flair needed a breather. What made him so fortunate in this time was that the NWA had groomed 2 different men in that time period to become champion. Unfortunately, tragedy struck as David Von Erich died on a tour of Japan in February of 1984 and then 2 1/2 wears later, Magnum TA had his career ended in a horrendous car accident. Those two men were the NWA's chosen ones and all the time they invested in those two went down the drain. The landscape of pro wrestling maybe different today if David were still around today as World Class disintergrated within 4 years of his passing. Magnum TA probably in my estimation would have gone back and forth with Flair for the title and even though life gave him quite the left turn, Magnum is still revered to this day anyway.
As turned out, the WCW finally found someone else to put the World Title on. In the summer of 1990, it was till the NWA World Heavyweight Championship but Ted Turner and a real knucklehead name Jim Herd were making the decisions and the NWA governing body wasn't. In July 1990, Sting would beat Flair in the cage and hold the strap for a little while. For the first time since he feuded with Harley Race, Flair had a sustained run without the championship.
In January 1991, The New York Metro Area was suffering through a blizzard as WCW had a show in East Rutherford, New Jersey. With only a crowd of 3,000 to 4,000, Ric Flair became champion once again after being without the title for the latter half of 1990. Sting just wasn't that main-event draw WCW hoped for so they went back to "Old Faithful." This was a time where people believed that Flair was getting long in the tooth but there was nobody else who could carry the ball like Ric can and he did until about the end of spring where he took off with the belt and ran to the WWF.
Not that Flair did nothing in years afterward but this is the period where the people's fondness of him should lie. i grew up watching this man and until tonight, watching him throughout my adult life. This was his time and he made the most of it by wrestling 60 minute matches day after day and then partying his ass at night as if he were Babe Ruth. I had more hours in school than this man had sleeping during this time and there wasn't anybody who could say they were better than him even if he wasn't even close to being a 100% for a certain match.

Ring Announcer Dan Speaks on Becoming WAR Ring Announcer - 5/19/08
5172 Avatar 5172 New Member * May 19, 2008 at 1:36pm Quote likePost Options Before I get going, I would like to welcome aboard the new members of this board as we are now up to 18!!!
For a guy who's only real microphone experience was singing karaoke, this was a sizeable step for me. Back in my 20's doing karaoke, they were some of the most fun nights of my life as I would be out to steal the show and do shit that would remind people of pro wrestling. As the KJ in those days usually needed a little time to cue up the music, I would do shit to get a rise out of the crowd and give an oura of greatness like a heel would.
After a while, however that had ran its course. Three things have happened this decade to water down my karaoke fun. American Idol came out and made everybody believe that they can be a star let alone give them the gumption to get on karaoke stage. With that said, the people these days are more narcissistic and they iust are not interested so much in hearing somebody else they don't know. Also, there just has not been a whole lot of good music (in my opinion) to come out for a long time and most of the stuff I had liked to do now gets over like a lead balloon. Up until last August, I spent over 5 years in the limousine business and that also reduced my time to go out to karaoke greatly as I would work evenings until the wee hours.
My wrestling watching habits go back 25 years. I started watching World Class with the Von Erichs & the AWA on channel 26 every Sunday morning at 11AM. I don't know if I would be in the majority here but what one of the things I liked about the AWA were their promos that went on to sell me on their product. The way that Ken Resnick and Larry Nelson showed the fear of God when interviewing such guys as The Mongolian Stomper & Nord The Barbarian I will never forget. World Class, well, the feuds they had down there are a big part of wrestling history. In 1985 after WrestleMania 1, that's where I really got going following the WWF and then Jim Crockett's NWA when St. Charles finally got cable available in the fall of that same year. In 1986 came the UWF who absolutely made the most of their talent before getting swallowed by Crockett in latter 1987. As these were the companies that got me to love wrestling, does anybody know whatever happened to Savannah Jack?
Fast forward to last year and that's where I made a decision about the sport I love. I watched WrestleMania 23 that was in Detroit and thought it just absolutely sucked outside of The Money In The Bank match and what I decided to do is to look back into the indies around here again. It had been since 2001 since I took in the very first show of PCW right before 9/11 so the NWA Midwest on May 5th last year in Streamwood marked my return to taking in the indies. The show was in honor of Chris Candido, who we had lost 2 years earlier. Who knows where TNA would be today if he were still involved as he was making one of the greatest comebacks in wrestling history. This show got it done for me as they were everything the WWE isn't, which was damn refreshing. The first match of the night started the NWA Midwest Title Tournament and the first one to come out to the ring was "Roughneck" Jay Ryan. Despite I didn't know who he was at the time, he instantly brought a smile to my face by looking crazy and slamming his bull rope around. I fell in love with two women on this show as they had a women's title vs. title match featuring Ms. Chif vs. Amazing Kong. Never had I been so impressed seeing two women's wrestlers for the first time................and I am seeing them in Streamwood?! There also was Joey Eastman & The Phoenix Twins were an X was marked on one of them for everybody to tell the difference and Jason Dukes, who had a cult following in spite of him being a heel. At intermission was where I met P.L. Myers, who was just taking in the show. Mr. "Straight To The Top" was the first man I got to know in this business as we got together a couple of times and talked wrestling for hours.
Fast forwarding to November of last year, I took in PCW's Midlo show the weekend before Thanksgiving. After the show, I went down to Mitch's (in town) to have a few drinks with the fellas. This where I got to know The Butcher and Rodney. Still not knowing to this day what his last name is, Rodney and I really had a long chat with as he let me know how long he had been a part of the business as he even mentioned how he knew Michael Hayes & Buddy Roberts real well. During that long conversation, Rodney encouraged me to check out the AWA Slam show the night before Thanksgiving where Butcher was going to tag with The B-O-Z.
As I had taken in all but one PCW show since I met P.L., I was looking forward to checking out another company. I like PCW but their product wasn't exactly what I had in mind when it came to following independents. The problem was that PCW is a family type product and I just wanted something that had a little bit more of an edge.
It turned out that this was AWA Slam's biggest show of year, The Four Points Sheraton, outside of O'Hare, was the venue and I started running into familiar faces not too long after I had entered the lobby. First of all, I didn't expect to see P.L. there, who made his first appearance that night as he has been at WAR since. Also in the lobby, I saw Acid Jaz walking around with his championship belt as he looked like he should be one, even before seeing him in action for the first time. A little bit later I ran into Butcher, himself as he was happy to see that I made it out. Even standing in line waiting to get in was even fun as I talked wrestling with an interaccial couple that I had remember seeing my two previous times at NWA Midwest.
The show was fun as the company kind of made me feel like I was watching the old AWA. It reminded me of the AWA when they would run in The Tropicana in Atlantic City or The Showboat in Las Vegas. Then I found out they were having a match to possibly change the name of the company. It was Acid Jaz vs. "The Human Massacre" Keith "Venom" Walker and with Jaz winning by DQ and subsequently changing the name to WAR. The man I was actually most impressed on the show with was Marshe Rockett. Even in defeat, the company looked like it could bank its future on him as he looks to me that he may one day become the best African-American wrestler ever!!!
Afterwards, I went to Mama K's for the after-party. I really only talked to Butcher and Rodney and bought Keith Walker a beer after giving him shit at the show. Otherwise, I really didn't talk to anyone else as karaoke was going on and I didn't want to look like a jock-sniffer anyway. I had no idea at the time how much of a role I would end up having with the company.
After attending my first Dojo show, I became a member of chicagoprowrestling.com. That has turned into quite a ride itself as I have given show results, reviews, and the knack (it seems) to piss off people when I talked up WAR or PCW. Didn't anticipate the polarizing views on that site but usually, there happens to be quite a bit happening on that board as I have had my share of fun there. January, I was asked by Buddha to serve up WAR results for the first time and the gut just about thinks of me as literary genious.
As the dual members from cpw on here know, I have been known for my polls (haven't done too much of them lately, have I?) One poll I conduct was a poll on Jamie Dundee. I found it very interesting when I found out that he had wrestling regularly in the area (primarily for POWW at the time.) I didn't see Jamie wrestle for the USWA but I read about him in the wrestling magazines and was entertained by just reading about his feud with his father, "Superstar" Bill Dundee (who I was familiar with in the AWA & NWA. The first time I saw Jamie on television was when he became a member of The Nation of Domination. Then I find out he is coming to WAR to take on Jaz for the WAR title and I think that its just awesome. A lot of people would say that Jamie has had a checkered past but he had been in the big time and he had entained me just by reading about him. His first night at WAR, I cheered my ass of for him and yelled out, J.C. The Ice Baby!!! He couldn't believe that someone remembered him by that name has he acknowledged me. After the show, the post-party was at Mama K's and I bought him a beer as we exchanged pleasantries. With karaoke going on at Mama's again, it was my next to last song I sang that night (sang 11 songs) and after I got done with that turn, I discovered that my leather jacket was gone from the chair at the table I had left it at. Jamie had picked up and thought it belonged to a talent that had already left. Seeing that he picked up, I stopped panicking and acted like I was little pissed off. He apologized and I told him it was all good, I told him I looked forward to seeing more of him at WAR as he was getting ready to leave.
After being in the business for going on two decades, a lot has been said about Jamie Dundee. What I do know is that most of WAR, at least, thinks the world of Jamie and we just hope he can set his course and hopefully, it will be with WAR.
After attending just about every show in 2008, the better I got to know Buddha and the boys. As more shows came and went, the more I was in Buddha's ear telling him he has to do something about his ring announcer. I was telling him that they couldn't keep trotting this guy out because he was inaudible in certain spots, always reading off his notes on announcements, couldn't improvise without Buddha, and seriously just lacked personality. At first, Buddha (non-seriously) offered me the job and I said O.K. Then after further noticing my vocals at karaoke, he then decided that he wanted to work me in for some of the Corino show.
****That First Night**** Tuesday before the Corino show, I got the call that I would be doing the whole show as their regular guy suddenly couldn't make it. I told Buddha I wanted prep time so I was told to come in at 4PM. I didn't make it until almost five because some intersections on North Ave. were a bitch to get across. After bullshitting with Nickie Sixx & P.L. Myers, one of Buddha's assistant's gave me ride down the street to pickup some goodies that were going to later be apart of the night.
Part of my job (I found out) was that I, myself had to go around the dressing room and ask everyone statistics (weights & locations) for the show. Then about 7:35, I got dressed for the show as some of the guys wre telling me that the dark blue blazer I had made me look like the captain of a ship. At 7:50-7:55, I did a quick mic check and then went back to the dressing area to await my cue.
Awaiting my entrance, I sat down and stayed quiet. I wasn't really nervous at all and maybe the something that had to do with that was my shoes. I was wearing dress shoes for the first time that I got in Christmas of 2006 that were absolutely tight and dug into both of my achilles everytime I took a step. Earlier, I made sure that I came out to AC/DC's TNT as I did not want that let's get Ready to Rumble crap that the other guy was coming out to. The problem was that the regulars were so used to the other music, they were all staring out at the empty ring when I came out. When I got out to ringside, I put out my arms like "What the fuck?" and then I got a reaction from the crowd.
Once I got to the ring I motioned to Buddha to hand me bag that I had already at ringside. In that bag consisted of goodies from Hostess that I let fly. Lucky crowd members were treated to five-pack chocolate mini-donuts, apple pies, and twinkies. After doing that, to establish a rapport with the crowd, I asked them who they were there to see.
All in all, it couldn't have gone much better for the debut of a ring announcer. Of course, I got a little heat from the heels and Buddha as he accused me of killing concessions. I definitely enjoyed myself, especially when we got the cheetos involved (again) in the Boz match. After all was said and done, I only really got tongue twisted once (it had to be the main event) and I got nothing but complimentary remarks from everyone who had an opinion. A special thanks to Steve Corino, Mr. Ricolo, and Nick H. as their opinions are apprieciated especially as they are outsiders (to WAR) in the industry looking in.
This Friday night will be my second show. Please come and say hello and see some of the very best talent that WAR has to offer.

Ring Announcer Dan Clarifies His Mission at WAR - November 2, 2008
Hello everyone. It's Dan and I thought I would clarify here my role in WAR.
Officially, I am an assistant booker. Some of my ideas come into play, some don't but either way I am giving a fresh, non-worker perspective. I am given the leeway to shoot off my ideas and that's what I wanted to do for a company all along. I really did get into my 9 show run as ring announcer and I did perform, all in all, better than I thought I would at any point.
I don't like everything that happens in this company but I am loyal to it. I think there are many things we can do better and we eventually will get better. I am lobbying to get a third venue, preferably in the Fox Valley area. Whether its one date a month, one every six weeks or every other month, I think its important to add one more venue just to see if we can develop a market in that area. I have noticed that POWW, by working every weekend, has a bit of a fan base that will follow them anywhere (except maybe Dubuque) and there is hardly a chance they would cancel a show as they draw, at least, decent numbers.
For those of you that have been curious about the company but haven't seen a show yet or those of you who aren't overly familiar with the company yet, I have a pledge for you. As long as I am in the fold at WAR, I am out for you in putting on a good product. Some aspects you may find to be lacking but I am out to correct whatever they may be with time. I want people to know there is at least one friendly face within our ranks and if you love wrestling, you can grow to love us.
Thanks for reading and I'll see you at the shows. Take good care!!!
The Big D/5172 Dan Kaelin

Thanks to 5172 for his suberb work in providing this compilation:
A near capacity crowd was on hand at The Dojo to witness an eight match card. Here's what resulted.
Opening Match: In Tag-Team Action, Jeff Luxon & Marshe Rocket defeated Los Mexicanos w/C-red as Luxon's Boston Crab was the difference.
After the match, the two teams agreed to rematch on February 8th with a stipulation. The loser has to wear a dress but if Los Mexicanos loses, C-red will have a new get-up instead of his team.
In his WAR Debut, The Junkyard Dog Jr. w/ manager PL Myers & "Iceman" Tim Norton defeated The Butcher w/ Sam Hart due to overwhelming interference by PL and The Iceman. Steve Boz ran in to get PL's Corporation off of The Butcher and Sam Hart, who herself was devastated by Norton.
Prince Ali w/PL Myers (who was an 11th hour addition to the card) had little difficulty in defeating the young upstart Dave Rydell.
Isaias Velazquez w/C-red & Los Mexicanos defeated Chris Sader after capitalizing on Sader's missed leg-drop.
After that match, Steve Boz made a run-in rescue for Chris Sader when all of Los Mexicanos were triple teaming Sader.
In a rematch from Black Wednesday, The Southsiders (The Nightbreed) evened the score with The Northsiders (Steve Boz & The Butcher) when The Nightbreed took advantage of a double-team gaffe by The Butcher. After losing his singles match earlier in the night, The Butcher was actually a substitute partner for Boz due to an Adam Evans car accident earlier in the day and The Butcher wasn't exactly 100% for the match after his earlier beating from Norton & JYD Jr. Boz blamed his stand-in partner for their loss publicly but The Butcher willingly took responsibility.
For The Main Event, it was time for The Nickie Sixx 4-Man Championship Gauntlet Invitational as Acid Jazz had to survive the challenge of three men to keep possession of his WAR Heavyweight Championship. Here's how it broke down as there was three matches:
Match #1: Jazz dispatched Gavin Dunn faster than you could get a Big Mac at The Drive-Thru.
Match #2: Jazz & POWW Superstar Brandon Bishop wrestled to a 20 minute draw.
Match #3 saw a lot more mayhem as Jamie Dundee entered the fray as both Jazz & Bishop both advanced due to pre-match stipulations. Actually to the pleasure of both Jazz & Bishop, they got a breather as the former JC Ice got on the microphone. He went off on the crowd as well as The WAR roster calling all of them a bunch of weekend warriors while bragging about his extended resume. After that and about 10 minutes of action, Brandon Bishop was disqualified by the outside referee for not breaking a choke on Acid Jazz by the count of five. That ref was put there by Nickie Sixx so he could be the in-ring referee right before the three way dance was underway.
The match resumed with Jazz vs. Dundee as Acid Jazz seemingly had Dundee beat on numerous occasions but due to his bias against Jazz, Nickie Sixx couldn't make that final 3 count twice as he complained about "pain in his casted arm." Much to the dismay of the outside referee, he got on the canvas to admonish Nickie but he was knocked unconscious out on the floor after the two combatants ran into him. Steve Boz then ran out, took the shirt off the injured referee, and assumed his post. After one more Nickie "two count," Acid Jazz was disqualified when Boz struck Dundee from outside of the ring.
Due to one of the pre-match stipulations, the people thought Dundee would get the championship via DQ. However, with Boz as the psuedo, outside referee, it was determined by Nickie that simply a rematch between Acid Jazz & Jamie Dundee will take place at The Dojo on February 8th for The War Heavyweight Championship. With enthusiasm, Jamie Dundee accepted another opprotunity at the title by telling Jazz that he wanted him fresh so there wouldn't be any excuses!!
On February 8th, we're back at The Dojo on Feb. 8th at 8PM!!!!!

Thanks to the superb work of 5172 in providing this detailed compilation:
In a competitive opening bout: PRINCE ALI w/PL MYERS defeated JASON HADES
With both men making their WAR debut: SEAN MULLIGAN over MILO CASH (w/ Stan Pain) in the latest of Bret Hart instances to Cash!
Finally making their debut as a team: STEVE BOZ & ADAM EVANS defeated MATT LONGTIME & PRINCE ALI* *- ALI (by request from manager PL Myers) substituted for Brandon Bishop who was pinned by BOZ
In the loser wears a dress match: MARSHE ROCKET w/The returning DYMOND & JEFF LUXON defeated LOS MEXICANOS via disqualification As a result, Los Mexicanos manager C-RED had to get dressed up. At least the dress went below his knees.
In the leather strap/ ladder match: Isaias Valaquez w/C-RED defeated "THE ULTIMATE HULKAMANIAC" CHRIS SADER. Before and after the match, Sader was triple-teamed by all three members of Los Mexicanos until a run-in save by Steve Boz, The Butcher, and the beautiful and talented the beautiful and talented Sam Hart. When order was restored, all of the sudden Steve Boz LAYED OUT HIS THREE COMRADES much to the delight of The Los Mexicanos Faction. Boz grabbed a mic and went on a tirade about how he was going to rid WAR of the people that he feels are making a mockery of the company as he had harsh words for each person he layed out. Boz even took a swipe at us internet bloggers!!
The Main Event for the WAR Heavyweight Championship: Was ruled to be a no-contest due to Nickie Sixx constant interfering and the bias officiating of Steve Boz, who was assigned the ACID JAZ/JAMIE DUNDEE title match before his change of attitude.
Steve Boz was relieved of his duties after counting 1-2-3 when Acid Jaz had his legs held down by Nickie Sixx and Boz still counted nevertheless as he saw this happening! BUDDHA ordered a restart to the match and ordered one of the regular referees out to replace Boz.
As the match was ready to resume, Dundee took advantage of Nickie Sixx's distraction of the succeeding referee and Jaz ended up getting a dose of his own medicine. Dundee took the Acid Jaz cocoa powder and spewed it in Jazes eyes. A little later, a corner superplex knocked out the referee. Nickie Sixx, who was ejected along with Steve Boz, came back in the side of the ring and knocked out Jaz. Sixx then revived the referee after putting Jamie on top of Jaz and the ref counted 1-2-3. Again, it looked like Jamie won the title again but Buddha was having none of that either. He declared the match a no-contest and held up the championship as Jaz and Dundee both ended up empty handed.
The two will go at it again on Feb. 22nd in a lumber-jack match, this time for The vacant WAR Championship!!!!

** GAKIYA d. ESPARZA
** Tony Rican beat Jason Hades.
** 6-Man Elimination Tag Team Match: " The Handsome One " Milo Cash + Remy Raines + Rudo Cortez vs " The Acumen " Austin Roberts + Jeff Luxon + War Machine -- The Cash Man and the Acumen began to break down in the ring into a serious fight, which wound up out of the ring and saw both men get counted out as they exchanged brutal punches all the way into the locker room and out into the parking lot. Thus, both men were eliminated. -- Jeff Luxon was eliminated next. -- War Machine succumbed to continual chairshots from Raines and was pinned. WINNERS: Los Mexicanos; Rudo Cortez + Remy Raines.
** Steve Boz beat Adam Evans

March 7, 2008
Thanks to 5172 for his accurate and shocking precision that is evident in the following results:
The deck ended up being shuffled on this night but a good night of action nevertheless.
The Galactic Grappler (in his WAR debut) STUNNED THE CROWD as he defeated "The Irishman" Sean Mulligan. People couldn't figure out which was more strange, TGG's attire or the language he spoke. TGG could turn out to be WAR's Mork from Ork.
The War Machine & Ultimo Akira (w/Stan Pain) def. Los Mexicanos in yet another upset for the night. PL Myers assumed the managerial reigns of the boys from 26th & California but this was not a good first night for the three of them. For the most part, Los Mexicanos were overwhelmed by the power of The War Machine and the skill & agility of newcomer Ultimo Akira. This was a horrendous loss for Los Mexicanos as they lost to an inexperenced team, however this wouldn't be the last we saw of them on this night.
In the "Closed Fists Are Legal Match," Milo Cash def. Austin Roberts (from Detroit) in a match that pretty much lived up to its hard hitting hype. Cash's power advantage was the difference in the end.
This time in singles action, The War Machine (w/ Stan Pain) def. Vic Vanity (w/ PL Myers) via disqualification after a blatant chair shot thrown by Vanity. In HER referee debut for WAR, Koa Marie had a solid first night of work as this was the first match she ended in this fashion. In a case of being at the wrong place, at the wrong time, The War Machine went for a running clothesline on Vanity. Vanity ducked the clothesline and The War Machine literally RAN OVER PL Myers. It is uncertain here whether or not it was from that violent collision but PL Myers suffered a severly sprained ankle as he was helped to the back by Vanity and the official. It is rare that a manager gets seriously hurt as PL's misfortune delighted the crowd!!!
In a match originally that was supposed to feature Prince Ali in his first defense of The Wings Of WAR Championship, it was Tony Rican & Isasis Velasquez for the vacated title. Velasquez had Rican right where he wanted him as he continually punished Rican's left leg but right as when it seemed like Velasquez had Rican put away, Los Mexicanos stormed the ring and pummeled their now former comrade. They placed an unconscious Rican on top of Isasis for the one, two, three. Los Mexicanos wanted to celebrate with Rican on his championship victory but Tony wasn't having it. Tony and Isasis together ended up chasing the tag-team from the ring. A Wings of WAR title rematch is a distinct possibility for March 21st!!
In what was probably the match of the night, "He's All That" Steve Boz took on former friend "Diehard" Jeff Luxon. After devastating Chris Sader, The Butcher, and Samantha Hart a month ago, the crowd on this night absolutely voiced their hatred for a man they once loved. Luxon wrestled an exceptional match but with brutal fists and great skill, Boz proved to be too much when his superkick ended a hard fought bout that lasted close to a half an hour.
In THE MAIN EVENT for The WAR Heavyweight Championship: Acid Jaz defeated Marshe Rockett (w/Dymond) For a few minutes after the bell, the combatants took a survey to see who was getting the bigger pops from the crowd. Then after just a few minutes of action, the nefarious Nickie Sixx & Milo Cash stormed the ring and started beating the hell out of the two competitors. The match was ruled a no-contest due to the run-in but Marshe Rockett was having none of it. He then proceeded to grab a mic and then said he and Dymond didn't come a long way for his first title match to end the way it did. Acid Jaz agreed to restart the match and then got the thumbs up from Buddha.
At the restart, Acid Jaz had his back turned to Marshe as he was talking to ringside officials. Rockett seeing opprotunity, scooped Jaz from behind to pinning predicament. Jaz nearly got caught napping but he did catch fire. Enraged over what almost happened, the match became unfriendly as Jaz landed a right to Marshe's jaw!!! After several minutes of back and forth action, Marshe seemingly had won the championship. He had Acid Jaz in a pin attempt but as Marshe bridged to support the pin, Marshe was counted out as he inadvertanely rested he shoulders on the canvas for three count. After Jaz was announced as the victor, Sixx returned with Milo Cash and they continued what they started earlier as they inflicted more pain on Jaz. Marshe, however, ended up running the two out of the ring.
WAR is back at The Dojo on March 21st at 8PM!!!!

March 21, 2008
Action abound on this particular Friday as we got a good dose of what will be happening down the road.
The NEW 8 o'clock Match: Remy Rainz(w/C-Red) def. Dave Rydell. Rydell didn't have whole lot to be ashamed about in his WAR debut. The Los Mexicanos member Rainz made it a point to mock the spiked hairstyle of Rydell but Dave was able to rally the crowd in a chant of Remy sucks. This match featured an impressive top rope springboard into a flying forearm by Rydell. As Dave was holding his own, C-Red got the attention of the referee as well as Rydell himself. The actions of C-Red allowed Rainz to recover, apply a full-nelson and turn it into a reverse DDT for the victory. 7:06
Wings Of WAR Division Match: Marshe Rockett(w/Dymond) def. Jason Hades. The match was clean and friendly for the first 3 minutes until a clubbing forearm on Rockett when the referee was trying to get a clean break in the corner. Rockett retaliated with vicious chops on Hades as Jason let his pain be known to everyone. The match then turned into one of high-risk manuevers until the odd ending of the match. Just As Rockett applied Hades for "The Dymond Cutter," Hades slipped and fell forward as he really knocked himself out more than the Rockett finisher had anything to do with it. Marshe wins in 7:19.
In a Rematch from 3/7: The War Machine(w/Stan Pain) def. Vic Vanity(w/PL Myers) These two competitors have the making of a great rivalry as the two are nearly in a "dead heat" in the power department and their managers detest each other. On this night, The Machine got the better of Vanity who had control for most of the match. Vanity gets finished off by the doublearm chokeslam at 9:13.
Texas Death Match: Austin Roberts def. Milo Cash. In another return match from 3/7, Roberts was able to even the score in this environment of pinning your opponent and making sure he can't get up before the 10 count. At the outset, Cash shrewdly devised a plan to sneak attack his rival. Posing as an ordinary fan sitting in one of the back rows, Cash attacked Roberts as he was walking down the aisle. Cash really layed into Roberts as Austin suffered some impressive blows from The Dojo's South wall. In the 7th standing count of the match, Cash gets counted out as he couldn't get to his feet at the count of ten. Trying to get up from a pedigree and pin, Cash didn't make it back to his feet because Roberts wisely kept Cash's shin down at the 9 count on. 13:17
In Tag-Team action: Los Mexicanos def. Tony Rican & Isaias Velasquez. Rainz & Cortez looked great in this match as they systematically worked on the arm of Velasquez as they cut the ring in half. Velasquez probably had the most impressive manuever of the night as he executed a flying scissors take down on Rainz. The offense between Velasquez and his former friends was not lacking but when his partner Tony Rican had the upper hand, Velasquez knocks out Rican and rolls Rainz on top for the 3 count. Reunited with his comrades, Isaias celebrates as C-Red explains that this was all a test of Velasquez's loyality to Los Mexicanos. Like it or not, no Armstrong Curse for the boys from 26th & California. 13:03
Negrostico Fantastico def. The Galactic Grappler. In easily the oddest matchup of the night, C-Red was introduced as the new manager prior to the match as he instructed the Grappler to destroy anything adversary. Of course, C-Red made it clear who had the reigns on the Grappler's finances. Anyway, Fantastico was able to win through psychology as this match looked like a Bugs Bunny cartoon. What was going to be a test of strength ended up being a night at the disco as The Grappler got down but lost his objective and eventually the match. 6:44
In the debut of The Arapaho Warrior: Thunderfoot def. All That Steve Boz via DQ. Even though the B-O-Z wasn't impressed, Thunderfoot danced in head dress for the crowd prior to the match. It was a nice debut for Thunderfoot as he gave Boz all he could handle until he was attacked by Milo Cash. Cash and Boz were working over Thunderfoot until a run-in save by Austin Roberts. Subsequently, Roberts declared he had a new friend in Thunderfoot and challenged Boz and Cash on the next show on April 4th. 18:15
In The Main Event: WAR Heavyweight Champion Acid Jaz def. "Roughneck" Jay Ryan. After getting the pinfall on Jay Ryan, Acid Jazz with a bandaged shoulder, was attacked by Milo Cash until Marshe Rockett broke up the double team attack. Nickie Sixx and Jay Ryan then declared that Jaz would have to defend his title on the 4th again against Ryan, this time in a Texas Bull Rope Match. Will Jaz survive in a match that is a specialty of Ryan? 16:47

April 4, 2008
This was a night where this show set itself apart from previous shows. It was one that involved the return of On The Mat and managers galore. There were the regular managers of WAR but also Nick H. and former POWW manager James Staublein who was in attendance.
** The Eight O'Clock Match: Dave Rydell vs. TL Money (w/ PL Myers) As he is known for having a stable in another promotion, PL Myers trots out new people every Dojo show it seems. The manager made it clear prior to the match that the powers that be at WAR don't appreciate/respect him as an asset to the company by the talent he continues to bring in. As for the match, it turned out to be a matchup. Rydell has had a progression of improvement by the show and he was even better this time. TL Money, in comparison, was the low center of gravity compared to the high flying ability of Rydell but looked pretty well himself. Just when it looked Rydell could get his first WAR victory, Los Mexicanos entered and attacked BOTH men.
This was only the tip of the iceberg. After rallying and extricating Los Mexicanos from the ring, Rydell dived over the top rope and took out the tag-team. Dave looked as bad off as the boys from 26th & California as TL Money made Rydell believe that he was going over with him prior to the leap. Then, Nickie Sixx and Jay Ryan came out and made it look like they were making nice to the newcomer from Atlantic City. As Sixx and TL Money's hands were about to touch for hand shake, Ryan sideswiped the PL Myers charge. Sixx and Ryan did a little number on him to the dismay of PL, who got out of harms way when the attack started. With TL Money & Myers out of the fray and Los Mexicanos beating the hell out of Dave Rydell on the floor, Jay Ryan calls out Acid Jaz and when he obliged, Jaz got double-teamed. Marshe Rockett eventually evened odds after Jaz took a bit of a thumping but Jamie Dundee emerged and it became 3 on 2. Before any real serious pain was inflicted on Jaz and Rockett, Thunderfoot came out and ridded the Sixx faction from the ring.
-- Jamie Dundee, back from his 30-Day Suspension, grabbed a microphone and let Jaz once again know he was "The Food Stamp Champ." He then went on to proclaim that both Indians & "coloreds" were beneath him. Jaz was interested in six-man action but Sixx, Ryan, and Dundee declined and order was restored.
FINALLY, THE SHOW!!!!
** Jason Hades vs. Negrotistico Fantastico -The most notable thing about this match was the change of attitude of Hades. Fantastico took a page from his match with The Galactic Grappler and made a weird hand motion that freaked out Hades as Fantastico turned that into a takedown. Jason did a lot of talking in the match and he now looks to be factor for The Stealth Division Champions. With a grab of the trunks, Jason Hades and his new attitude was the pinfall winner as he finally gets one in the left column..
** Brandon Blaze (w/PL Myers) vs. Tristan Hayze - This was one more interesting endings to match you will see. Blaze, with the referee temporarily out of commission, knocked out Hayze with a pair of knuckles. As the referee slowly regained consciousness, Blaze slipped that piece of brass into the trunks of Hayze. The referee was slow to respond to Blaze's cover that Blaze only got a two count. As PL Myers had the referee's attention, Hayze got the knockout blow with a superkick and an apparent pinfall victory. Then, Myers and Blaze cried foul and ordered the referee to check the trunks of Hayze where, you guessed it, he found the knuckles and subsequently disquailified Hayze. So PL Myers charges go 1-0-1 tonight.
Now the bad night of C-Red.
** Stealth Division Championship: Champion Tony Rican vs. Isaias Velasquez. - Before the emergence of the champion, C-Red was more thingyy than usual as it was basically a foregone conclusion that Isaias was walking out the new champion as he was boasting on the mic. That was not the case as even the manager got knocked off the apron with a right hook right before Rican got the pinfall to retain his title. Almost at the same time as Rican's music started blaring, he was attacked by Jason Hades. Hades then put Rican on notice as he let him know he is coming for the title on the next show (April 18th.)
** Los Mexicanos vs. Stan Pain's Killing Machines - C-Red declared his team to be the best that WAR has to offer and told his team he had an open contract to any team that wanted to challenge LM. Cortez and Rainz were not happy whatsoever about this and it really got worse. People had seen The War Machine but now people got their first look at his new partner The Machine. The boys from 26th & California and escaped to the floor where C-Red said that they could take them because "We're Mexicans." The manager then proceeded to distract the new team and Stan Pain so Rudo & Remy could jump them from behind. It worked but the match was over 35 seconds later as Cortez was layed out on the floor and Rainz was pinned following a double-barreled chokeslam. As Cortez tended to Rainz afterwards, C-Red was nowhere to be found.
Then came the brief comings and goings at intermission as Koa Marie and Acid Jaz were available for autographs as posters were made available for signings. In The Dojo lobby, fresh off their more than convincing win, were The Killing Machines and Stan Pain as they made for quite a picture for the fans that wandered in there.
** Jamie Dundee (w/Nickie Sixx) vs. Marshe Rockett (w/Dymond) Dundee seemingly had this match won before any action took place. Dundee, who is never for a loss of words, fired on his adversary and manager calling them "The O.J. and Nicole of WAR." Not to be undone, Dundee said that he refuses to even acknowledge the name of his opponent because to Jamie, he was nothing more than a guy who carried bags for Acid Jaz. Rockett got off to such a fast start that when Dundee made it to the floor to collect himself, he went back to the psychology game as he grabbed the microphone to apologize to Marshe. In a match where the combatants had an equal amount of the advantage throughout, the difference was a Nickie Sixx chair shot and Dundee put him down for the one, two, three. Acid Jaz had to come to the rescue when Jamie and Nickie were taking it to Marshe after the match.
** Thunderfoot & Austin Roberts vs. The B-O-Z & "Handsome" Milo Cash. Before the match got underway, Steve Boz took exception to the pre-match dancng as he made it clear to The Arapaho Warrior that it was WARprowrestling and there was no place for his dancing, especially since The B-O-Z just had his car washed. Cash & Boz were the more cohesive unit in this match as they were successful in cutting off the ring. They had dominated Thunderfoot and after he made the tag, they did the same with Roberts after his initial flurry of offense. Once Roberts was able to tag back to Thunderfoot, Thunderfoot was looking to score the fall when he was attacked by Jamie Dundee with a cookie tray. No contest was the decision.
** The Main Event for The WAR Heavyweight Championship in a Texas Bull Rope Match: WAR Champion Acid Jaz vs. "Roughneck" Jay Ryan. This was a quality a match as to refresh a few memories out there, you have to touch all four corners to win the match. Both men had a wrist tied to the rope with the cowbell in the middle as that ringer did come into play throughout the match. The match started out in a tug-of-war as Jaz let Ryan pull him in and then roceeded to hammer away at Ryan. In this match, there was numerous times where the combatants touched two corners before being pulled away from the third. Eventually, Ryan tied up Jaz and carried him over his shoulder as he touched three corners. Little did Ryan know, Jaz behind his back was touching the corners also. After the third touched corner, Jaz prevented Ryan from the winning corner andas they mixed up back in the middle of the ring, Jaz went to his trunks and got some cocoa powder. He blew it in the face of Ryan and got to the fourth corner to win. Enraged, Nickie Sixx stormed the ring and hammered away as he on top of Jaz. Marshe returned the favor and ran off Nickie and Ryan.
Afterward, Buddha came on the mic and made a few announcements. On the 18th, there will be a return match with the Bullrope and Nickie Sixx, by Buddha's order, will be returning to action..........in a Dog Collar Match.
On a personal note, I apprieciate your patience as this has been a busy time for me getting going with my new job. As far as the attndance goes, my guess is around 85. Things are going to heat up in WAR and say hello to me on the 18th as I will be back for more Friday night action!!!! If you want to see arguably the best collection of talent in the local indies, its here.

April 18, 2008
Thanks to the diligence of one 5172:
A suberb show on this night as 5172 will give you the skinny on some interesting stories/developments in WAR but for now, here are the results!!!
The show really got off to an inauspicious beginning as two of the biggest "ham and eggers" you will ever see opened up the action. I will not give you the names of these two combatants because I don't want to bug Buddha to get the names right and nobody will ever see those two stiffs again.
As much as people might hate to admit it, the people were happy to see Steve Boz & "Handsome" Milo Cash storm the ring about 25 seconds into that opening bout as they went on to pummel those nobodies. After then grabbing the mic, Boz got on the case of Buddha by asking him why he booked those guys. Boz and Cash decided they weren't going anywhere as Boz called Milo's opponent of that evening, T.L. Money.
After T.L. made his way to the ring, P.L. Myers had made his way down and was curious to say the very least on why TL. came down without him. After being together for only one show, T.L. told the manager to take a walk as Myers' services wouldn't be required. P.L. wasn't about to take this cup of coffee lightly as he promised Money that his betrayal won't go unanswered.
TL vs. Milo was surprisingly one very hard hitting match as it was pretty much as stiff as the first Cash/Austin Roberts match was. On the left side of Cash's chest was THE FULL HAND PRINT of T.L.'s right hand that was just so visually obvious. Cash's right side was almost as bad but only a partial print. These guys went at it full force for a little more than 10 minutes before the B-O-Z broke up a T.L. pinning predicament. Then Boz & Cash double teamed Money until "Acumen" Austin Roberts came in and dispersed the perpetrators from the ring. Roberts then got on the mic and fixed it so that instead of going one on one with Boz, he and Money tag up against the duo of Boz and Cash later in the show.
The Curse or No Curse Tag-Team Match: Los Mexicanos vs. Negrostico Fantastico. To the surprise of the crowd, there was no C-Red to lead his struggling tag-team to the ring as "kool-aid" proved the 5172 right by saying that the man does believe in curses. Things got even worse for the boys from 26th & California on this night as Cortez & Rainz were rolled up and DOUBLE PINNED in a matter of seconds from the opening bell.
Before Luxon and Fantastico could make it back to the locker room, Rudo Cortez got the attention of the team on the mic and asked the two to wrestle again because they weren't ready. After celebrating at ringside with the fans, Fantastico & Luxon obliged. This time.........ANOTHER DOUBLE PIN ROLLUP IN A JUST OVER A MINUTE!!!!
With the Luxon/Fantastico team now 2-0 for the night, they celebrated with the fans again as Cortez also got on the mic again. Not only did they want to wrestle again but this time Cortez chastised the referee by accused him of being racist. Once again, Luxon & Fantastico obliged.
In now a third match, Los Mexicanos were able to establish a pace in the match as they were able to get Fantastico in some trouble as they did have some control in this match. However, after a Fantastico tag to Luxon, Rainz came off the top rope and took out Cortez. Luxon got Rainz, as a result, for the fall and Los Mexicanos was now 0-3 for the night.
To prove that he was not cursed, Rudo Cortez told Remy Rainz to call it a night as he wanted now a singles match against anyone from the back. After Cortez accused the referee of being racist again, Dave Rydell answered the call. The young man had an ax to grind as it was as he was pummeled by Los Mexicanos 2 weeks ago. Cortez was having his way with the young upstart until Rydell surprised Rudo with a schoolboy and got the 1-2-3. Now Rudo Cortez has really raised the bar in WAR. He now holds the record for losing 4 matches in one night.
WINGS OF WAR CHAMPIONSHIP: Champion, Tony Rican vs. Jason Hades. Rican has not exactly has had an easy time of it in his title reign. He just got past his roller coaster ride with Isasis Velasquez by defeating Isasis a second time and now he had Hades to deal with after being attacked by Jason two weeks ago. Rican, in this match, survived many near falls much to the chagrin of Hades. The more Rican was able to kick out, the more frustrated Hades grew with referee Koa Marie. What resulted was down right heinous as Hades kicked Koa in the stomach and planted her with a powerslam. That move did lead to the disquailification of Hades but not before he was actually cheered by the WAR female fans.
Hades, as security attended to an injured Koa, had the gall to demand another title shot. Instead, he got the furthest thing from it as Buddha admonished Hades for his violence on a woman and suspended him for 30 days. Rican, did not have it so easy leaving the ring himself as he was confronted by Remy Rainz who is now next in line for Wings of War title shot on May 2nd.
As I continue with this thread, I want to let you all know that I am thrilled that I stopped where I did as I got some new information overnight!!!
Brandon Blaze(w/P.L. Myers) vs. Thunderfoot- These two competitors locked up as originally these two were supposed to face other opponent as I will have more on Jamie Dundee after I am through with the rest of the results.
In a competitive bout, the difference was the 8-ball cane of P.L. Myers. Blaze was to fling "The Arapaho Warrior" to the section of ropes where P.L. was waiting to hit but Thunderfoot reversed it and ended up hitting his man Blaze instead as Thunderfoot was victorious as a result of the gaffe.
Then came time for the intermission as Prospective Loop Girl Koa Marie was able to sign autographs along with WAR Champion Acid Jaz. As that was going on, outside of The Dojo, P.L. Myers was doing a big time shoot as he had something real interesting to say. I will have more on that real soon!!!
T.L. Money & "The Acumen" Austin Roberts vs. "The Unsigned Superstar" Steve Boz & "Handsome" Milo Cash. In a match that was amended to a tag match earlier in the night, this match was by far was the most bizarre. T.L. & Austin got the best pops of the night as Boz & Cash got the most heat. While Boz was feeling the wrath of the crowd, he made an interesting observation. He noticed that huge youth contingent in the crowd was eating Cheetos. "Shut your mouths and eat your cheetos," Boz yelled to the crowd. This act by Boz actually encouraged the crowd to go to concessions to buy Cheetos as people were gorging away on the crunchy style. As Boz was pounding away on Roberts in a corner, a fan came up and offered Steve to have some of his Cheetos. Boz stopped working over Roberts, went out of the ring, and took that variety pack sized bag from the fan and threw them away. The crowd just flat out laughed their asses off.
The other bizarre thing about this match was that Roberts, all of the sudden, TURNED on his partner, T.L. Money. Steve Boz, who was legally in the ring with T.L., shaked hands and hugged "The Acumen." Milo Cash extended his hand to Roberts but Austin wanted no part of him. After double teaming T.L., Boz & Roberts layed out Cash. As T.L. and Cash were down, the celebration began as Boz proclaimed his new partnership with Roberts by the name of "The Chicago Syndicate" but that was not the only new union. Money and Cash jumped their two perpetrators from behind and cleared them from the ring. After beating the hell out of each other earlier night, now the team CashMoney was formed. Only the beginning of this feud.
The Main Event: Dog Collar/Texas Bullrope Match. The returning "Suicide King" Nickie Sixx & "Roughneck" Jay Ryan vs. WAR Champion Acid Jaz & A Mystery Partner. Willie "Da Bomb" Richardson was originally scheduled for this bout but as most of you already know, Willie had a scheduling conflict that didn't allow him to participate. Buddha's answer to the problem was local hardcore legend The Butcher. This was a curious choice as times had been real rough on The Butcher. Since dropping The PCW Championship late last year, he was betrayed by Steve Boz and suffered some humiliating losses to such people as The Junkyard Dog Jr. and PCW's Uzi Akiva.
The Butcher really held his own as he and Nickie Sixx just beat the living crap out of each other. Nickie guaranteed blood but he wasn't refering to his own as the most exciting part of the match was when all four men battled on the floor. Nickie was having his way with Butcher until he took a right hook from Acid Jaz. That fired up The Butcher as he mounted as a rally on Sixx as the chain was around a steel ring post. As Nickie & Butcher fought most of the match on the floor, Jay Ryan and Acid Jaz battled with the bullrope in the ring. Ryan had Jaz elevated for a manuever when Jaz adjusted and blew his cocoa powder in Ryan's eyes. Jaz was able to then drive Ryan's head into the mat and get the 1-2-3 win for his team.
Jamie Dundee was scheduled to wrestle Thunderfoot on this show but he was a no-call, no-show. Everybody was worried about him but there was nothing wrong with him and news got to him in Indianapolis that he missed the show. He called WAR to let them know he got his Fridays mixed up as he apologized. Jamie very seldom misses shows but he will be back at WAR on May 2nd to take on "The Arapaho Warrior!!!"
