RGW notes
foxtrot - So what were the results of the Bob Luce Memorial?
Joey Eastman - hahahhahaha
PAIN - The results were covered on the wrestlingobserver.com web site
w/ the date being last Sunday. We had over 200 in attendance.
Joey Eastman - I just heard about this show from 2 different people. As much as I enjoyed POWW, I kind of regret not going to this. With the Exception of 2 or 3 matches, it sounded so indy craptastic.
foxtrot - I can't blame Billy Wack for making fun of your show
kellyt - Williams did get mad at Whack....because instead of focusing on the show Whack was more intent on getting himself over by chanting about hot dogs. It distarcted from what was happening in the ring....and thats why Petey made it a point to go over and flip off Whack and Venom before he left.
The show was fun....once it got going. One of my biggest indy gripes is that if you advertise a 7 pm belltime....thats when the show should start. I guess the less than competent guys handling the music didnt help the situation (I mean how hard is it to put a cd in a cd player and hit play?) I'd also advise a few less promos. The show started with a promo from D-Nytmare and then was followed up by another pre-match promo (with some low brow cheap heat pro-Imus comments thrown in). The crowd wanted to see some action and was getting anxious waiting for it.
I'm also not a big fan of the over the PA announcing. It too is very distracting from whats going on in the ring. All that being said....the wrestling on the show wasnt half bad. Its hard to mess things up withe guys like Steve Boz, Ivan Manson, and Petey Williams doing their thing. Outside of the music....the presentation was good. Guardrails and an entranceway are not essential at an indy event...but they're always nice to have.
All of the above aside....the crowd was mostly families and kids and they seemed to have a good time....so a guess in that case it was a success. I'd go back.
